Hertwig & Company, founded by Christoph Hertwig, Johann and Benjamin Beyermann produced truly captivating porcelain dolls and objects in their factory in Katzhütte, Thuringen, Germany between the years of 1864 and 1941.
Whilst exploring Maryland, much to our delight, we came across this truly exquisite collection, believed to be Hertwig & Company dolls that had been in the same family home for years. In an attempt to keep them all together, naturally, we had to have the whole lot. See others in the same range.
This delightful porcelain doll comes with a fireman’s felt suit, moulded hat, and Germany logo on feet similar to the Hertwig markings.
Jointed arms and legs. Fire hydrant made in porcelain.
Antique Porcelain Fireman Doll Measures: 85mm high.
